I do not have a successful career outside of the home that I am proud of.
I do not even have a career.
Let's see.....there was that one time I managed to get out of an abusive relationship, but, for me that does not seem as much as something I am proud of, it is actually quite embarrassing to talk about....Next!
Before I met my husband I was a single mom w/ two boys. We made it work, is that something I am proud of? Well, kind of, I suppose I was just more in the frame of mine of "You gotta do what you gotta do."....Next!
Do you see how hard this is?!?!?! Am I the only one having a hard time coming up with something that I am proud of that does not involve the kids?
So I decided I am going to take the easy way out...kind of.
Here is what I am proud of about myself...no one else.
1. I am in charge of our budget, somehow I manage to budget for a family of 6 on one income and still have a little over to save.....and to buy shoes, for me!
2. The only thing I do not do is bring home a paycheck...everything else I do, grocery shopping, budgeting, paying the bills, running the kids around, cooking, cleaning, appointments, the occasional sex with the husband even though I am soooooo not in the mood.
I literally do it all, without a paycheck, and I have not yet had a mental breakdown.
So there ya go...in a nutshell I am proud of the fact that I am still standing, and have not yet been admitted into the local psych ward.
This was a writing prompt from the ever popular The Red Dress Club
"Tell the story (without any trivialization or modesty) of something in your life that you are proud of."
